GRA, West Blue Set Up Ultra-Modern E-zone Centres at KIA, Tema Port

The Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and its IT partner-West Blue Consulting have commissioned two electronic zone facilities at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA), and Tema port.The e-zone facilities which were set up as part of the Ghana National Single Window (GNSW) project will provide 24/7 customer services to exporters and importers in the country.

An expert in global trade development and facilitation from Switzerland, Tom Butterly has called on policymakers in Ghana to pay keen attention to trade facilitation to enhance administrative efficiency and attract investments.He said trade facilitation could reduce costs and time of transacting business across borders and increase predictability.

GRA begins graduate employment

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has started an exercise to employ its contract staff as well as graduates who ended their National Service with the authority this year.A memo sighted by 3News dated September 19 and signed by GK Katamani asked qualified service personnel and GRA’s contract staff to submit their applications to their respective former heads by 5:00pm Thursday September 22.

GRA to clamp down unregistered cars

The Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) in the Upper East Region, will soon embark on an intensive operation to mop up all unregistered vehicles and motor cycles in the region.It has, accordingly, warned that owners of all vehicles and motor cycles picked up will pay a pecuniary penalty in addition to the normal import duty and taxes.

UNECE Holds Trade Facilitation Training in Accra

United nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in collaboration with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) would organize a five-day training workshop in Accra for Trade Facilitation stakeholders.The workshop, sponsored by West Blue Consulting under the Ghana National Single Window (GNSW) Programme, would take place from Monday September 19-23, 2016.

GRA Attends Single Window Summit in Morocco

Officers from the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), with its technical partner, West Blue Consulting attended the 5th edition of the International Single Window Conference in Morocco.The conference which was under the themeVirtual Single Window for foreign trade: The requirement for an inclusive cooperation’, took place between the 5th and 7th September, this year.

Adopt uniformity in Single Window Systems

The Chief Executive Officer of the West Blue Consulting, Madam Valentina Mintah, has advised members of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) that are implementing the single window systems to abide by international standards to enable them to operate effectively and efficiently in the sub-region.According to her, the uniformity of the systems would allow customs authorities to share critical data on trade and other related activities in line with the harmonisation of customs operations in the ECOWAS sub-region.

Fish Export To EU Hits $250m

Ghana’s overall export of fish and fish based products to the European Union (EU) market reached more than $250 million.Alexander Dadzawa, Head of Marketing and
Promotion at Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), who disclosed this at the press launch of Blue Sea Land fair 2016, said the lead product exported to EU was canned tuna which generated about $219 million.
