Akufo-Addo appoints new GPHA boss

President Akufo-Addo has appointed the corporate, Marketing and Public Affairs Manager of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority Paul Asare Ansah as acting Director-General of the GPHA. He takes over from Richard Anamoo, who was relieved from the post on January 23, 2017.

West Blue to introduce E-manifest by 1st April, 2017

West blue consulting, the technical support providers for the customs division of the Ghana Revenue Authority is set to roll out an emanifest software as part of the Ghana National Single Window project on 1st April, 2017.The emanifest is a system solution which will serve as a platform where shipping lines and their agents could submit information on their cargo electronically and 24hours before the ship loads from the port of origin.

ICC hails entry into force of WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement as “watershed moment” for world trade

Valentina Mintah CEO of West Blue Consulting and a member of ICC Ghana said the Ghana National Single Window, a Trade Facilitation programme, plays a key role in the execution of the Trade Facilitation Agreement, with up to 15 Sub Articles covered by the programme.

GRA gets new Commissioner-General

Mr Emmanuel Kofi Nti, a Tax Policy Advisor, is the new Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).He took up the role on Friday after Mr George Blankson, the former Commissioner-General handed the baton of leadership to him at a pull-out ceremony at the Head Office of the GRA in Accra.Mr Blankson served the Authority for seven years and spearheaded the integration and modernisation of the three main revenue agencies.

Massive shakeup hits Tema Port

There has been a massive shakeup and reshuffle among officials of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) at the Tema Habour as part of internal measures to ensure the Authority performs at its maximum efficiency.The shakeup happened on Monday and had some ten top officials being asked to change positions as part of internal periodic transfers aimed to ensure that officials do not overstay at a particular duty post.

Important Notice on Falsification of Customs Documents

It has come to the notice of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority that some importers, traders, shipping agents and clearing agents are in the habit of falsifying, faking or altering documents covering their consignments of goods imported with the aim of evading the payment of the correct and appropriate duties and taxes.These documents include invoices, bills of lading, sales contracts, bank payment documents and even the Customs Classification and Valuation Reports.
